‘The one who commits sin is the slave of sin. Slavery is servitude, not freedom. Christ’s words tell us that sin is a taskmaster, we the servants. We do not rule over it. It rules those who are under its power. Slavery is antithetical to “free will.” Man in sin is not free to do what is good.

‘It is utterly amazing, then, to read the words of Dr. Geisler who writes, [page 65] “We are born with a bent to sin, but we still have a choice whether we will be its slave.” How can this be when the Lord teaches that sin brings slavery? What kind of “choice” is left to the slave concerning his servitude?’
